Hi people. Global warming has begun to take hold up here in the arctic circle; it hit 47 degrees ABOVE zero yesterday, at which point I turned off my heat and opened my windows. What a lovely way to exchange out all that already-breathed air. Already breathed by sicky me, over the course of a 16-hour fling with food poisoning, and by my oven and heaters, which were in overdrive creating a happy, too-hot hideaway for my rising bread dough.
Sometime, remind me to tell you the story about the Russianist who had to change her dissertation project when the archives she was going to use in Siberia collapsed into the thawing tundra due to global warming.
So, since Iceland and V-Day are rapidly approaching, what's the story, A.? And the Navy guy, B.? And all the various guys, and other small scandals in the village?
The foreign correspondent demands answers.
